Hey gang, 

So what’s the Cyber Kid & Co. doing the past six months, we’ll sit back and enjoy…

       Starting in April, we saw the return of Spring baseball in Central Texas for Little Dude.  Additionally, Spring softball also commenced for Jess as the Eagles began a great run for the championship.  Both kids did very well in their respective sports with Alex pulling more 1^st base duty and Jess, starting to look very formidable at the plate and holding her own at shortstop.

       The end of April saw Darth-M head into the mountains w/ Mark Avo and some buddies for a “guys weekend.”  By guys weekend, the Cyber Kid & Co. holed up in a cabin playing various board games, Risk 2210 (didn’t finish), Diplomacy (lost), Nuclear War (too blurry to remember… but pretty sure I lost) and Munchkin Conan (lost).  There was a little hiking also but mainly it was a gaming/drinking weekend.

       Moving on, the end of May brought the Dallas Comic-Con to, well obviously, Dallas.  This year was no slouch either as the Cyber Kid & Co. were able to meet iconic comic legend Neil Adams.  (Don’t ask him about contrails though – Just sayin’)  Anyway, fun had by all, there were many artists to interact with along with our bevy of favorite cosplay favorites! Oh and Alex officially became a JEDI!  (Just sayin’!?...)

May also brought with it Auntie Rachel and Mr. Thomas for a much needed hang out in the States.  Loads of entertaining and a little (ok, maybe a little more) embibing to be had - a great visit overall and the kids had a blast!  Like any typical visit - I think both parties needed a vacation form the vacation - so much running around!?...          Into June, we saw summer fun as the kids got a hiatus from sports and had fun enjoying the pool, Ranger games and MANY, MANY camps!?  Pony Camp, Robotics Camp and (ACTUAL) Sleep-away Camp, just to name a few.  During the kids’ excursion to the eastern part of Texas, the Cyber Kid and his better half decided to take a long overdue and much needed vacation.  So where does a couple go when the kids are out of town you ask?  Yup, you guess it – Sin City, USA!  Las Vegas baby!  Now while we’d love to show you what they did in Vegas we have to instill the golden Vegas rule – “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!”  So, we’ll just give you a couple pictures to enjoy!  (Actually the rest are on the  My Aviation Album PAPA page which you can go to by clicking here MYA Flying 21st Papa)

       August wrapped up the summer festivities with a drive through the Fossil Rim Nature preserve where the kids were able to actually (although questionable legally) drive the trusty JEEP through the grounds for a bit.  (Fortunately, no animals were harmed during the event!?)  Many rare and exotic animals were witnessed and feed with the “slightly” overpriced (but still purchased animal kibble!)

Um, What happens if I hit one?...	So, if I run over a zebra, do I get bonus points?!...

       August also brought with it, the return to academia.  Alex hitting middle school (6^th grade) with all of its iPad learning splendor!  (Not to mention the $700 price tag!?) And Jess rolled seamlessly into 3^rd grade!

Of course being the fall AND Texas, that meant “Fall-Ball” (the ability to play predominantly Spring sports - namely baseball/softball due to the warmer climate in TX) was not far behind.  So Alex’s Scrappers AND Jess’ Eagles were at it again.  With a strong showing last Spring Alex seems to have earned his home as the primary 1^st baseman and with his keen sense of the game, his above average baseball IQ continues to serve him well in the field.  Jess has earned the #2 spot in the batting line-up, continuing to have a great eye at the plate, which is good because the girls have just entered the MKP (modified kid pitch*) era of their careers.  Her timing and good mechanics are thus far keeping her ahead of the curve on hitting off kids!

*For those without kids (or Geeky offspring :o) “MKP” is a version of kid sports where a kid pitches until the batter either hits, strikes out or the kid pitches four balls.  If the kid pitches four balls, then the coach of the opposing team may come out to pitch the remaining number of strikes to his own batter.

September finally arrived and of course a last minute decision and cashing in a "kitchen pass" Darth M headed down to San Antonio for the 3rd Annual Alamo City Con.  Fast becoming a big hit in the states the con boasts 76,593 people in attendance.  (Making it the 3rd largest con in the US of A)  Anyway, Darth M's buddy Simon F***ing Bisley was headed into town so of course, the Cyber Kid had to make an appearance.  In addition, Darth M got a rare opportunity to hang out with Star Wars Episode I actor and uber Bad-@$$ Ray Park (aka Darth Maul)  Enjoy the pics and please, try not to be TOO jealous!?...
