Hey
gang, here's the news. The second and third quarter's of 2003 have been
interesting. The war is over, but our friends and family still
remain overseas keeping the peace. We of course and always, wish them the
best.
On the homefront, I've been busy all summer chasin' balloons for the National
Scientific Balloon Facility (NSBF). It's been very
exciting coordinating the flights and the low-altitude path finding has
been a blast, except when it's been 100+ outside and getting knocked
around in the cockpit for hours at a time. It has been some fun
flying and we work with some great people. Most important, that PIC
turbine column has added up quickly and I have reached and exceeded my
goal of 1000 hours of PIC turbine. Now if the airlines were only
hiring?... Hey I got plenty of time for that, this is a great gig
anyway...
So,
what else since March 2003 you ask? Well, The Rule of Thirds, my
novel I have been working on for two years is complete. I have
received all the work my colleague Mark was able to do and after polishing
the fourth draft, am happy to say I think it's about as good as I think
I'm gonna get it without the aid of an editor. As a bonus to those I
know and love and that support me, you can read the Prologue and Chapter 1
here...
PROLOGUE/CHAP. 1 - THE RULE Of
THIRDS.
Feedback of course is always welcome...
In
addition to the novel, I was able to finish my movie Script - SKY
HUNTERS. A story about two FBI agents as
they investigate attacks perpetrated by a group of aviation
vigilantes. The first scene, again as a bonus can be read here
(language is rated "R")...
SKY HUNTERS - Final Draft - Scene 1
I was also
able to transfer another script idea from concept to prose as I have just
put the finishing touches on a first draft of another script called - KNIGHTS
IN WHITE SATIN. What if when you slept, the events you
dream were actually happening and in the process you could alter the
outcome and ultimately affect history? Knights in White Satin
explores that possible reality. I loved the concept and the story
just took me with it. I will post a scene once it has been read by a
few of my critics :o).
Other than that, I've been pretty busy working (a big change for me as I
had a pretty laid back lifestyle before this contract, but I love to fly,
so it's OK.) and writing. With some luck, I'll be able to solicit
some or all of this work I've been doing? We'll see. Be sure
to check the book stores and theaters for my stuff. Fingers crossed
people!
Well, that's it for now. Be sure to check out the MY AVIATION ADVENTURES
page for any new pics.
Again, check out the FUBARHQ Food Page
where I have posted some more Hooter's Restaurant's I have
visited, total now at 79 and counting.
Anyway, that's all I can think of, be
sure to check my other sites for updates www.FUBARHQ.com
Until next time, take care, fly safe...
